We’re introducing another new springer typology to the plugin: the Trapezoidal Springer.
This springer replaces the lowest voussoir by extending it downward until it meets the support plane, forming a continuous trapezoidal block. Instead of inserting a separate springer element, the voussoir itself becomes the springer, filling the gap created by the tilted underside of the first voussoir and providing a stable, horizontal base for the vault to spring from.
The component automatically adapts this extended geometry to the vault’s thrust surface and subdivision logic, ensuring a clean, unified transition between the support and the first course of voussoirs. It integrates seamlessly with the existing vault generation tools and offers an alternative springing strategy for geometries where a single continuous block is preferred.
Available now in the latest release of the plugin.
